- HOW WE OPERATE WITH COMPASSION AND WITHOUT COMPROMISE -
We have been breeding Cavaliers for over 30 years and have up to seven "Royal Flush" pedigreed generations with the AKC on lines that we have cultivated for decades. Being a breeder for so many years you come to realize that dog breeding can have a lot of gray areas. When you have generations and lines you want to continue, it requires holding back dogs even when the ones that produced them are still 4-5 years old. You can see how something like this could get out of hand in a single home, not to mention be really unfair to the dogs living in those conditions. Operating a kennel and placing dogs as they age is an unfortunate reality for many breeders and the dogs in their programs and it's something that didn't sit well with us.
After much consideration we came up with a program that was a win for all involved. We do not have all of our dogs on site and do not operate a kennel. We have some dogs on site who live with us forever, while other puppies that will continue our desirable lines are placed with family and past clients each year. The dogs that are placed are part something we call our "in-home" breeding program. Dogs in this program live with their families while we maintain the right to breed them. When of age, dams are brought back to us for breeding and for whelping of their puppies. We hand-raise these puppies for our clients and then the mom returns home to her family when the process is done. Boys are called over when stud service is needed and then they return home too. Girls are placed on a contract for just 1 or 2 litters in their lifetime while boys are placed on annual contracts since it's not the same physical investment as pregnancy and whelp.
Dogs that are PURCHASED are NOT a part of this program. This is a FREE dog program available to past clients only. Expanding our program in this way allows us to have access to up to six generations depending on the breeding. We're grateful to these families because it makes it possible for us to conduct a humane operation. It also allows the families in our program to oversee the health and breeding of our dogs as well. Our breeding protocol allows the dogs to live their lives as pets while giving us the option of continuing lines that we've worked with for years. This ensures that suitable lines are continued without compromising the comfort and contentment of the dogs or displacing them as they age. It is the most indefectible breeding model to ensure the happiness of all involved.
We are grateful to the 14 families (and counting) that are currently part of our in-home breeding program.
